Grace Fellowship Bible Church 5th Anniversary
Sunday, November 2, 2008 we celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Grace Fellowship Church. Our guest speaker was Reverend Tim Montgomery from The Heritage Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Brother Tim provided an excellent message and advice on applying the scripture to our lives. Brother Tim was with Landmark Baptist Church several years ago, but moved to Texarkana. This was an exciting time for the church. In 5 short years the church went from an empty grocery store to the church you see today. The new church construction took place during the previous two years and was directed by former Pastor Dick Ware.
The morning began with Jeff Lisenbey, our Interim Pastor, welcoming everyone to the anniversary celebration Sunday service. This was followed by the opening music directed by Roger Pugh, accompanied by Teresa Gartman, and with piano music by Annette Huey. After a couple of well known songs, we had special music by Chris Workman. Chris sang "Watch The Lamb", a song about the crucifixion of Jesus. Next we all sang along with the praise song "He Has Made Me Glad".
Brother Tim took over and presented a stirring message about using our time that God has given us wisely. His message was taken from Ecclesiastes chapter 3; verses 1 through 11. 1. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; ----
After Brother Tim's message, we all watched a photo-memory DVD assembled by Deana Taylor. The DVD was a photographic history of the church from the beginning to present day. It was well done and copies were made available for all of those interested.
After the service, many of us enjoyed an excellent barbeque lunch, catered by Corky's Barbeque in Little Rock. The weather was beautiful, so the tables were set up outside and we had a great lunch in the sun.
The following pictures were taken by Deana before and during the service. It is easy to see that everyone was having a good time.
